Dana Point Real Estate
Dana Point is approximately one-half way between Los Angeles and San
Diego, and is bordered by the cities of Laguna Niguel and Laguna
Beach to the north, San Juan Capistrano to the east, and San
Clemente to the south.
Locals who enjoy the year-round beauty of
Dana
Point
live with a kind of blissful guilt: The town they call home is the
kind of place most people only visit on vacation.
Orange garibaldi flash like lightning in the kelp beds off Dana
Point Harbor. Fragrant eucalyptus trees line scenic stretches of
Pacific Coast Highway.
Yellow jacaranda trees brighten a downtown shopping district built
on topsy-turvy streets named for colored lanterns.
It’s no wonder the city attracts boaters, surfers and sun
worshippers of all ages. And though
Dana
Point
only incorporated in 1989, it’s also a magnet for historians who are
charmed by its rich maritime culture.
The Headlands promontory, which appears on the city seal, was a
popular stop on the cowhide trade route in the early 1800s. Today,
boats from around the world still dock in
Dana
Point.
The harbor is often filled with international visitors who travel
far to visit the quaint town ... on their vacations
Dana Point: Located along the
magnificent South Orange County coastline, Dana Point is home to
35,110 residents and is characterized by nearly seven miles of
prominent bluffs and rolling hills along the Pacific Ocean. Most
noteworthy of these bluffs is a unique promontory known as the
"Headlands" which overlooks Dana Point Harbor, providing slips and
mooring for more than 2,500 boats, along with over 50 specialty
shops and restaurants. The Harbor attracts thousands of visitors
annually for shopping, sportfishing, walking, bicycling, parasailing
and a host of recreational activities. There is a wide variety of
housing types and prices. Single-family homes start at $300,000 and
run into the millions. There are many estate homes with spectacular
ocean views. Condominiums and townhouses are also available ranging
from $300,000 to $1 million for luxury units.
