Ventura County Real Estate
Ranking 26th in land size among California’s 58 counties, Ventura
County covers 1,873 square miles and 43 miles of coastline. There are
seven and a half miles of beautiful shoreline and public beaches, as
well as and 411 acres of State beach parks. Ventura County has 43
miles of ocean shorelines and three boat harbors with over 3,000 boat
slips. It is also the gateway to the Channel Islands. The Los Padres
National Forest takes up most of the northern half of the county.
There are two major lakes which are Lake Casitas and Lake Piru.
Early Spanish settlers to Venture County originally named the region
“San Buenaventura,” which means “good fortune,” and described it as
“the land of everlasting summers.” Ventura County’s mountains, valleys
and shorelines create six micro-climates, which is more than any other
county in the nation. Ventura County is an interesting mixture
of old and new, rich and poor. It's European history dates back to the
founding of the Mission. There's also the Courthouse, a marvel of rock
work, and housing a wonderful art collection. But it's also a bustling
tourist town, boasting the longest pier in California.
Nurtured by a
warm and mild Mediterranean climate, Ventura County has an
agricultural heritage visible today in the colorful arrays of fruits
and vegetables available at roadside stands. Oil was discovered here
in the 1800s, and many county companies still service the oil
industry. The county has two major military bases, Point Mugu Naval
Air Station and the Port Hueneme Naval Construction Battalion Center,
which provide thousands of jobs. Other major employers include firms
in tourism, retail trade, pharmaceuticals, software, multimedia and
real estate.

Ventura: The City of Ventura is located on the Southern California
coast within Ventura County just one hour north of Los Angeles. With
Ventura River at its northern boundary and the Santa Clara River at
its southern edge, Ventura is very oriented toward water. It has the
feel of a classic California beach town with a temperate Mediterranean
climate to match.
Its warm climate and seaside location makes Ventura a popular tourist
spot. The city welcomes well over a million visitors a year and
tourism is its major industry. High tech firms are also moving into
the area. Ventura manages its growth and so still has acres of
orchards and fields, hillsides and clean, clear waves. There is,
however, a very active downtown area and many choices of housing- from
condominiums to large homes.
Camarillo: Some
of the homes and properties in the Camarillo area can be describes as
any of the following: Luxury, Custom, Tract, View, Ranch, Spanish
Style, Cottage, Lake front, Equestrian, Estate, and Hillside.
Camarillo, which like many Southern California cities originated as a
Spanish land grant, has blossomed into a beautiful and well-planned
community which mixes light commercial and business development with
attractive neighborhoods and abundant recreational resources.
Named after early settlers Adolfo and Juan Camarillo (Cam-a-ree-yo),
the city is surrounded by rolling hills, strawberry fields, vegetable
fields, avocado orchards and citrus orchards.
Mild ocean breezes keep the city's temperatures in the mid-70s most of
the year and the area enjoys abut 300 days of sunshine annually. The
temperate weather makes Camarillo ideal for outdoor activities, and
there are 15 neighborhood parks scattered throughout the city, along
with plenty of tennis courts and championship golf courses.
